About the Role
ECOM Cameroon Commodities is seeking a committed and proactive Field Officer to support the implementation of the company's field programs and activities.
The Field Officer will work directly with farmers, communities, field partners, and other stakeholders to support program implementation, farmer engagement, data collection, monitoring, and reporting.
This is a field-based position requiring frequent travel and direct engagement with farmers and rural communities.
We are looking for a bilingual candidate who is fluent in both English and French and is comfortable communicating with farmers, communities, and other stakeholders in both languages.
Key Responsibilities
Implement assigned field activities according to program plans.
Engage with farmers and communities and maintain positive working relationships.
Conduct farm and field visits as required.
Support farmer registration, training, mobilisation, and engagement activities.
Collect accurate field data and maintain appropriate records.
Monitor field activities and report progress, challenges, and observations.
Support the Program Manager in implementing field initiatives.
Prepare regular field activity reports.
Identify issues affecting program implementation and escalate them appropriately.
Promote company programs and initiatives within assigned communities.
Ensure compliance with company policies and field procedures.
Participate in meetings, trainings, and community engagement activities.
Support the collection and verification of farmer and field data.
Maintain regular communication with the Program Manager regarding field activities.
Qualifications & Experience
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or a related field.
1–3 years of relevant field experience is preferred.
Experience working with farmers or rural communities is an advantage.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently in a field environment.
Good data collection and basic reporting skills.
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Willingness to travel frequently and work in rural locations.
Ability to build strong relationships with farmers and community stakeholders.
Must be bilingual and fluent in both English and French, both verbally and in writing.
